Organization: Keeping Track of all the Delicious Intellectual Porn

KT-df-01._V166940136_When you read as much as we do it is sometimes hard to keep track of all hotness, especially when you have two conflicting personalities like ours. Lydia is a very visual person, she never remembers the names of books but show her a cover and she can tell you everything about the story. On the other hand, Rene is an organizational guru who loves lists! We are up and running because of her mad skills. So here are some hints for organizing your IP, whatever type of person you are.
NOTE: All of this could not have been possible without the awesomeness that is Goodreads.com! It helps a visual person and a list maker organize their books, and keep track of their IP without coming to blows.

1) A rating system is key! Here is an example of how we rate our IP.

The Teacup ratings are based on our enjoyment and the quality of the novel, it isnot based on the amount of sexually explicit content.

  • 5 Teacups – It’s bewitched me body and soul.
  • 4 Teacups – I’m excessively diverted.
  • 3 Teacups – Handsome.
  • 2 Teacups – Not to be trifled with.
  • 1 Teacup – My good opinion once lost, is lost forever.

The Handcuff ratings are based on the amount of sexually explicit content the novel may contain, this is intellectual porn after all! Unlike the Teacup rating this has nothing to do with our enjoyment or the quality of the novel.

  • 5 Handcuffs – It satisfies man’s carnal wants and lusts.
  • 4 Handcuffs – Fetch my smelling salts.
  • 3 Handcuffs – Free from restraint.
  • 2 Handcuffs – Not properly attired.
  • 1 Handcuff – Mary would approve.

2) Like a scientist keeping track of the animal and plant kingdoms, you need to categorize your books.

Goodreads allows you to create different categories (bookshelves) to organize the novels you have read and the ones you want to read. We organize our IP by subject matter, i.e. BDSM, Motorcycle Men, Vampires, etcetera. The same book can be added to multiple bookshelves. When organizing the books into categories, we also make sure to give it a star rating, and post any review we have written. We have investigated other book organizing sites but so far nothing surpasses Goodreads.

3) With so much to choose from, keeping track of books you want to read is key.

Mrs. Bennet is a fan of the Amazon.com Wish List, to organize her want to read novels. Goodreads also allows you to mark books you want to read and place them in a bookshelf, so when you are looking for a certain type of novel to cozy up with it can be easily found. There are also a ton of to-be published works, so you can always keep up to date on your favorite authors and series.

Happy Organizing!
