Sexy, gifted, and loyal, PI Jacob Decker is a tall, cool drink of perfection who had Emmanuelle Holmes at “hello.” His relationship with Emme’s best friend kept them apart for years, but things have changed. Our Thoughts:

  • So far, this is our favorite novel since Kristen Ashley has become contracted with a publisher.

  • This novel brings all our favorite couples from the Colorado Mountain Series together. Chase and Faye Keaton get some major page time!

  • Emme and Deck start their relationship as close friends. This friendship develops into something deeper, better. This progression makes the characters’ HEA believable.

  • Spoiler Alert! Emme does not get kidnapped in the present, unlike the other girls in her posse. The conflict within the novel stems more from Emme’s inability to get over a tragic past experience, so the couple can move forward in their relationship. This is a refreshing change that we enjoyed.

  • In another break with tradition, it is Deck’s parents who are overly protective and do not want to see him in a relationship where he could ultimately get hurt.

  • The kaleidoscope reminds us that even in the darkest of times, things can shift and you’re reminded how beautiful life can be.

Why we love Emme:

  • Through out the course of the book she grew significantly as a person. This growth is possible because she has the love and support of Deck, and girl posse.

  • Even though she is from a wealthy family, she has an great work ethic and does not take anything for granted. She works hard for what she has.

  • We love that she seeks out advice from her new girl posse and actually listens to what they, Laurie, says.

  • Emme has a beautiful heart. Her ability to understand and forgive is amazing. We were blown away by her character.

Why we love Deck:

  • Deck’s persistence in his pursuit of Emme is relentless. He knows what he wants, Emme, and he goes after it. No questions.

  • We love how Deck fights with Emme to overcome her past trauma. He never gives up on her or thinks of walking away.

  • Deck is a wonderful character, with a great amount of loyalty to friends. He is always looking out for Emme and does not mind scheming to get his way, if it is good for his girl in the end.

  • He gives Emme a puppy! Enough said.

Happy Reading!
