Close Liaisons (The Krinar Chronicles #1):

“The near future, the Krinar rule the Earth. An advanced race from another galaxy, they are still a mystery to us – and we are completely at their mercy.

Shy and innocent, Mia Stalis is a college student in New York City who has led a very normal life. Like most people, she’s never had any interactions with the invaders – until one fateful day in the park changes everything. Having caught Korum’s eye, she must now contend with a powerful, dangerously seductive Krinar who wants to possess her and will stop at nothing to make her his own.” (via

Our Thoughts:

  • Zaires does an excellent job creating this alternate variation of earth ruled by alien overlords, who are responsible for human life on the planet.

  • The extensive details regarding the superior Krinar technology help immerse the reader in the constructed world, distinguishing the human and Krinar settlements on earth.

  • The evolution of Korum is excellent. In the first novel he is not a very likeable character, but by the third you really fall for him and his love for his paramour.

Mia is a shy naive woman, who at first coerced into a relationship with Korum. As the novels progress she grows, finding her place in Krinar society. While Korum is the dominate,  Mia knows how to fight him for what she wants.

  • What starts out as an obsession for Korum quickly becomes a deep seeded love. Because of this, Korum defies societal norms and ignites the idea of human equality within Krinar society.

  • The sex in this novel is hawt and frequent. Zaires knows how to write the dominant alpha male.
